Weave, the PlaidCloud AI assistant, is in the app. Ask about your workspace, find out why a run failed, and approve a fix from your phone. Your conversations are the same ones you have in PlaidCloud on the web, so you can start in one place and carry on in the other.

  • Update the app to version 1.2.0 or later.
  • Weave must be available to you. You need the same access to Weave that you have on the web. If you don’t, the Weave tab tells you so.
  • Accept the AI notice the first time. See Privacy and Consent.
  1. Open the Weave tab.
  2. Type your question, such as What failed today?, and send it.

The answer streams in as Weave writes it. Tap Stop to end it early. Tap the thumbs up or thumbs down under an answer to tell us whether it helped, and use the share icon to share the answer.

Where Weave names the step, run or workflow behind a statement, tap the link under the answer to open it.

Tap Ask Weave on a workflow, a run or a failed step, and Weave starts with that item as its context. On a failed run, try Why did this run fail? or How do I fix it?

Tap the clock icon for your saved conversations. They are shared with PlaidCloud on the web. From the list you can search, open, rename or delete a conversation. Deleting it removes it on the web too.

Weave doesn’t change anything on its own. When it proposes a change, an approval card shows what it will do, which items it affects, and whether you can undo it.

  1. Read the card.
  2. Tap Approve and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint or your device passcode. Changes that can’t be undone ask you to confirm first. Tap Reject to discard the proposal.

Only after you confirm does Weave make the change, and it reports the outcome. If something changed since Weave proposed the change, Weave refuses and asks you to review it again.

PlaidCloud checks your approval on the server, so the card can’t be skipped. The same applies to Weave’s changes in PlaidCloud on the web.

  • Dictate a question. Tap the microphone, speak, and tap it again to stop. The text appears in the question box, where you can edit it before you send. Speech recognition runs on your device, and your audio never leaves your phone. The first time, allow Microphone and Speech Recognition.
  • Hear the answer. When you ask by voice, Weave reads a short summary of the answer aloud.
  • Say “What failed in PlaidCloud” and Siri reads a summary of the recent failures.
  • Say “Weave in PlaidCloud” and Siri asks for your question, then reads Weave’s answer. Siri’s answers are read-only: Weave doesn’t propose changes this way.

Both are also available in the Shortcuts app.

On Android, press and hold the app icon and tap Ask Weave to open Weave ready for your question.

If you leave the app while Weave is still working, a notification tells you when the answer is ready. Tap it to open the answer. The notification doesn’t contain workflow names or answer text.

The Home tab shows Weave findings, the problems Weave found in your recent projects that need your attention. Tap one to open it.

To get a daily summary, open Settings and turn on Daily Weave digest. It’s off by default. The digest is a single notification with counts only.

The first time you open Weave, a notice titled Before you use Weave explains that your questions, and the workspace information Weave needs to answer them, are sent to PlaidCloud’s AI provider, which processes them on PlaidCloud’s behalf. Tap Agree and continue to use Weave. The PlaidCloud privacy policy names the provider and describes how the data is handled.

To withdraw your consent, open Settings and tap Withdraw AI consent. Weave, Siri and notifications for Weave stop until you agree again.
