Signing up for PlaidCloud is one short flow that ends with you working inside your own workspace. You verify who you are, name the workspace, pick a plan, and — while the workspace builds itself — invite your team. When it’s ready you choose a password once and land on your workspace Home with a guided first run waiting for you.

Verify Your Account

Start from a plan on the pricing page, or open the PlaidCloud app directly.

1. Confirm your email. Continue with Google, GitHub, or Microsoft, or enter your email address and type the six-digit code we send you. Either way, this only confirms your address — you’ll choose a PlaidCloud password later, once.

2. Say what you want to do first. One optional question tailors the sample project and connector suggestions waiting for you inside the workspace. You can skip it.

Tip

Already started a sign-up and stepped away — or already have an account with that email? Enter it again and PlaidCloud sends you to the right place: your in-progress workspace details, payment, or status screen; a prompt to finish choosing your password if you never did; or straight to sign-in if your account’s already set up. It never just tells you the account already exists.

Name Your Workspace

Enter a company name and a workspace name. PlaidCloud fills in the rest for you: the workspace name is derived from your company, and your region is selected from your location. Both are editable under Advanced, where a short note explains where your data will live. Accept the terms of service to continue.

Choose a Plan

• Free is permanent and needs no credit card — accepting creates your workspace right away.
• Starter and Team include an optional 7-day trial and take you to a secure checkout to enter a card, which is charged when the trial converts. Your receipt comes from our payment provider.

Watch Your Workspace Build

After you finish the details (or complete checkout), a live status screen takes over with a simple checklist — Account created, Workspace requested, Setting up, Choose your password, You’re in — so you always know exactly where the build stands. Building a workspace takes a few minutes; if it’s running long, the screen says so (“taking a little longer than usual”) instead of leaving you guessing. It refreshes on its own and moves you forward the moment each stage finishes, and you never land on a dead “check your email” page.

You can close the tab and step away entirely — reopening the same link, or the “your workspace is ready” email once it arrives, picks the build back up exactly where you left it.

Invite Your Team While You Wait

The status screen has an Invite your team panel. Add up to ten teammates by email and give each one a role:

• Builder — can create and run projects, workflows, and dashboards.
• Viewer — can open and view what others build.
• Organization admin (under More) — can also manage billing and workspace settings.

Invitations are held until the workspace is running, then sent automatically — so nobody gets a broken link to a workspace that doesn’t exist yet. Need to invite more than ten people, or think of someone later? Add them from the Members area of your workspace once you’re in.

Choose Your Password and Sign In

When the workspace is ready, PlaidCloud shows one Choose your password screen: confirm a fresh code if asked, set your display name, and pick a password that meets the policy shown. This is the only time you set a password during sign-up.

That password signs you into your workspace, and it’s also your password for the control plane — the admin area where billing, plans, and additional workspaces live. You’ll rarely need the control plane day to day; when you do, use the same password. If you ever need to change either one, use the Forgot password link on that sign-in page.

Setting your password signs you in immediately — you land on your workspace Home without re-entering your email.

Land Inside Your Workspace

Home opens with a guided first run:

• A welcome and a short tour of where things are.
• A sample project to load and run — preselected to match what you told us you wanted to do first — so you reach a finished result and dashboard without building anything.
• A card for bringing in your own data by upload or connector, framed as “swap the source, keep the workflow.”
• On a paid trial, a trial banner showing days remaining and how to upgrade.
• A help and support link, and — from your user menu — Organization & billing, which opens the control plane for plan and billing tasks.

Teammates you invited receive their welcome email once the workspace is running and follow the same sign-in.

Note

Across a whole sign-up you’ll get at most two emails from PlaidCloud — the verification code, and, if the build ran long, a “your workspace is ready” note — plus a payment receipt on paid plans. Both PlaidCloud emails come from the same sender.
